City of Ostend's newest exhibition focusses on the painter Constant Permeke.
Constant Permeke is one of the most important painters of the Flemisch Expressionists School, known mainly for his distinct works of fishermen and their wives, the sea, the boats, and maritime life in general. He was inspired by Ostend, where he lived and had his boat, and depicted the place in his unique way.
The exhibition focusses on artist's Ostend period, in the 1920-ies and shows many works of private collections, for the first time on public display. The exhibition closes its doors on November 9th and is coronaproof!
